Woodward ranch plume agate cab ~
Offered here is a sweet cabochon of Woodward Ranch agate, from Texas. This distinctive old stock material is a longtime favorite for its wonderful translucence and colorful figure, and this is a decent example. The rough biscuit came from a fellow who found it on the Ranch long ago, and he said it the pickin's were mighty slim even way back then. This cab has the characteristic carnelian orange background and crimson red plumes, with some ghostly fortification bands. A few spidery black plumes for added spice. Backlit, this one's amazing! The stone has a well rounded dome of 5mm, and a slick polish both front and back.
