Imperial jasper cab ~
Offered here is a cabochon of imperial jasper, from Mexico. This classic old material is absolutely amazing stuff, a member of the fine grained porcelain jasper family I love so much. This example has an unusual pattern of broad stripes in shades of avocado green, edged with darker green, alternating with an even lighter pastel that's nearly white. Very appealing, to say the least. The stone has a low but nicely rounded dome, a long designer 'spike' shape, and a fine glassy polish both front and back.
