Amethyst Sage Agate ~
Offered here is a gemmy cabochon of amethyst sage agate, from Nevada. This appealing example has lovely translucent purple, blue & lavender agate, in an almost banded pattern. It includes a two-toned white area at the large end, which is common opal. The stone's best features are the spidery dendrites, very well defined, standing out like black snowflakes in the pastel lavender area. It's a beauty worthy of gold, with great designer potential. The stone has a nicely rounded dome of 5.5mm, and a brilliant glassy polish both front and back.
