Amethyst lace agate ~
Offered here is a lovely cabochon of amethyst lace agate, from Mexico. Seldom seen, this old timey agate has become most difficult to obtain these days. Not to be confused with the more recent chevron amethyst lace of (much) lesser quality. This cab is a nicely translucent example, with attractive pink, purple and lavender bands, with white & gray. The dark amethyst area appears to have very fine sagenitic needles. The cab has a low dome of 4mm, a sleek designer 'spearhead' shape, and a super glassy polish both front and back.
