Pilbara jasper cab ~
Offered here is a cabochon of Australia's Pilbara jasper, cut from rough hand selected at this year's Tucson shows. This jasper certainly cuts a striking stone! This example includes areas of smoky charcoal black agate with contrasting coloration in artfully arranged yellows, with creamy clouds and a few strokes of orange. Despite a couple of tiny barely noticeable voids, I think this one has a boatload of designer potential. If you do too, grab it and make it yours!! The cab has a high rounded dome of 7mm, a crisp designer shape, and a fine glassy polish both front and back.
