Covellite cab ~
Offered here is large, deluxe cabochon of covellite, a rare heavyweight metallic ore of copper from the Leonard mine near Butte, Montana. This super reflective stone features deep, rich cobalt blue coloration, with a few scattered flecks of shiny metallic pyrite and white quartz for extra added character. It also has some small areas of the very desireable rosy-purple patches, visible from certain angles. This one ought to make some knockout item of jewelry, no doubt, or a soon-to-be favorite in your collection of rarities. The cab has a well rounded dome of 5mm, and despite a few tiny natural voids, it took a great gleaming polish both front and back.
