Dinosaur Bone cab ~
Offered here is cabochon of Utah's fossilized 'spiderweb' dinosaur bone, in a most unusual blond color. This highly silicated material is many millions of years old, a marvelous example of the natural preservation of our earth's ancient, extinct 'thunder lizards'. The cells in this gemmy fossil bone have been completely replaced with translucent agate, leaving only a lattice of golden tan webbing. The yellowish sponge-like network of patterns is truly amazing! The stone has a fascinating degree of translucence and depth, as illustrated by the backlit photo. It has a high and well rounded dome of nearly 8mm, a versatile designer shape, and a super slick glassy polish both front and back.
