Offered here is a unique cabochon of premium carasite jasper, from Oregon. This wonderful old material is a member of the fine grained porcelain jasper family, closely related to its more famous cousin, morrisonite jasper, found nearby. Like morrisonite, it takes a dazzling shine. This stone is an interesting example, featuring a streaked and wavy pattern in shades of peach and burnt orange, with a dab of green. The cab has a well rounded dome of 6mm, a graceful designer 'teardrop' shape, and a slick glassy polish both front and back.
