Covellite cab ~
Offered here is large, deluxe cabochon of covellite, a rare heavyweight metallic ore of copper from the Leonard mine near Butte, Montana. This super reflective stone features deep, rich cobalt blue coloration, with bars of white quartz and flecks of shiny metallic pyrite. The quartz is actually edged with pyrite, including some intriguing cubic outlines (resembling the pyrite crystal habit), for extra added character. It also has some areas of the very desireable rosy-purple patches, although it's only visible when viewed from certain angles. This one ought to make some knockout item of jewelry, no doubt, or a soon-to-be favorite in your collection of rarities. The cab has a high rounded dome of 6mm, a designer 'flame' shape, and a great gleaming polish both front and back.
