Woodward ranch plume agate cab ~
Offered here is a sweet little cabochon of Woodward Ranch agate, from Texas. This distinctive old stock material is a longtime favorite for its wonderful translucence and colorful figure, and this is a decent example. The rough biscuit came from a fellow who found it on the Ranch long ago, and he said it the pickin's were mighty slim even way back then. This cab has the characteristic crimson background, with a black edged fortification around a pool of purple and blue. There's a beautiful frosty white crystalline core too, for added character. There are a few teensy pits to be aware of in the golden moss areas at the outer edges, easily concealed by most any setting. The stone has a nearly flat face, and it is polished both front and back.
