Petrified wood cab ~
Offered here is a fine cabochon of petrified wood, classic old stock material from Arizona. I'm fairly sure the species is Auricaria. The intriguing patterning is due to the agate replacement of the once living wood, and this example includes some teensy tiny dots as part of the streaks. The colors are yellow, gray, pink and rose, and I can find none of the typical fractures pet wood so often has. It's even nicer in hand. It's bound to look grand in even the simplest setting, or in your aggie collection. The cab has a low rounded dome of 4mm, a graceful flame shape, and a super glassy polish both front and back.
