Tonto plume agate cab ~
Offered here is an awesome cabochon of top shelf Tonto plume agate, collectibly gorgeous material from the Tonto National Forest in Arizona. This beautifully busy cab was cut from rough I got from a retired ranger, whose father and uncle dug all over Arizona in the old days. He is pretty sure they don't allow digging there now, and haven't for many years; I haven't been able to verify that, but I have not seen any Tonto plume agate in a very long time! This stone has a great showing of flowery red and yellow plumes in one side, with mossy tendrils and speckles in the other, more translucent side. There's also a couple of small bluish pools with ghostly fortifications. Gorgeous! The cab has a well rounded dome of 6.5mm, and a curvy designer shape, and a slick glassy finish both front and back.
Size: 59x25mm
Weight: approximately 68 carats
