Pilbara jasper cab ~
Offered here is a cabochon of Australia's Pilbara jasper, cut from rough hand selected at this year's Tucson shows. This jasper certainly cuts a striking stone! This example includes areas of smoky black agate with contrasting coloration in artfully arranged yellows, with white and just a touch of pink. It is partially translucent, even in the black agate areas, and I think it has a boatload of designer potential. If you do too, grab it and make it yours!! The cab has a nicely rounded dome of 6mm, a smooth and versatile designer shape, and a fine glassy polish both front and back.
