Rhodochrosite cab ~
Offered here is a deluxe cabochon of rhodochrosite, from Argentina. Production at the mine seems drastically diminished these days, with very little brought into the United States. This magnificent stone features delightful pink coloration, in several shades, with scalloped banding in creamy white. The two gray bands contain tiny flecks of dark metallic manganese, adding character. The stone shows a nice degree of warm translucence when backlit. This beauty has a graceful designer shape with a nicely rounded dome of 6mm, polished to a lustrous brilliance both front and back.
