Pilbara jasper cab ~
Offered here is a cabochon of Pilbara jasper, a recent Australian find, fresh from this year's Tucson shows. The material certainly cuts a striking stone, though this example is a bit different from others I've offered, not only in coloration, but it's more brecciated. It's mostly cream with a strong pink and yellow blush, and it's very highly silicated, with a dark smoky black agate running through it. The cab has a high rounded dome of 7+mm, a versatile designer 'flame' shape, and a slick glassy polish both front and back.
