Turquoise cab ~
Offered here is a splendid cabochon of spiderweb Chinese turquoise. This stone has a rather different coloration, very exciting, in bright turquoise blue shading into olive green shades. The jet black matrix forming the webs really sets off the color, by contrast. No doubt the material has been stabilized by some hardening process, as is most modern turquoise, but I do not believe it has been subjected to artificial coloring of any kind. This material polished like a dream, and will wear wonderfully, without changing over the years. The cab has a low but nicely rounded dome 4mm, has a designer teardrop shape, and a slick glossy polish both front and back.
