Polka dot agate cab ~
Offered here is a colorful cabochon of Priday polka dot agate, which hails from Oregon. This excellent 'blue ice' material is always great fun to work with, when you can find it, and never fails to cut extraordinary stones. This fine example has clusters of red bullseyes, each with a central dot of brown or yellow. Beneath those is a scattering of white dots. Oddly enough, the brownish centers in the red orbs are sub metallic, having a somewhat silvery sheen at certain angles. Viewed with a bit of imagination, the pattern is weirdly scenic, as some have commented. The stone is cut in a bold designer 'spear' shape with a low rounded dome of 4mm, and a brilliantly glassy polish both front and back.
