Bloodstone cab ~
Offered here is a splendid designer cabochon of bloodstone, also known as heliotrope, from India. This classic material is a long time favorite, treasured by many for its blood red spots, which are said to be symbolic of the blood of Christ. This example has a strong showing of red flecks against a background of deep, rich forest green. There's a splash of lime green too. My personal preferences for bloodstones like this is a silver setting, but please feel free to follow your own capable imagination. -smile- The stone has a beautifully rounded dome of 7mm, a gracefully curved 'flame' shape, and a smooth glassy polish both front and back.
