Variscite cab ~
Offered here is a cabochon of spiderweb variscite, from Australia. This is a lovely example of fine new material that's being recently mined Down Under. It features cool greens that reminds me of pistachio ice cream (my favorite), with windows of deeper minty green. There's also some contrasting spiderwebbing in tan, which did not undercut at all. In fact, I was astounded by the slick glassy finish this stone accepted; it's a real beauty! The cab has a generously high and well rounded dome of nearly 8mm, a crisp designer shape, and it is polished both front and back.
