Pigeon blood agate cab ~
Offered here is a splendid cabochon of rare pigeon blood agate, also known as cornelian, from Utah. This gemmy beauty is a real treasure, classically attractive in crimson shades, with a surprisingly translucent agate background. The strongly saturated color of the cab comes from zillions of very tiny dots within the stone, hence the name. This example also includes some rings and mossy blooms, as well as some small milky blue areas. I think you'll search a long time to find another near as nice as this one is. It has a high and well rounded dome of 7.5mm, a designer 'catseye' shape, and a brilliantly gleaming polish both front and back.
