Carnelian agate cab ~
Offered here is a sweet cabochon of fiery Oregon carnelian, also known as orange chalcedony. It features juicy translucent orange and crimson coloration, with a nice display of the internal 'cornflakes' so sought after by collectors. I did what I could to capture the beautiful 'flakes inside this stone, but the intense color just washes them out. The backlit picture reveals them more fully, so please be sure to click the pics for revealing views. I think this stone is nicer than these photos show, and believe me, carnelian with these beautiful colors is none too easy to come by these days! The cab has an nicely rounded dome of 5mm, a smooth, plump shape, and an excellent glassy polish, slick as can be, both front and back.
