Pilbara jasper cab ~
Offered here is a cabochon of Pilbara jasper, a recent Australian find, fresh from this year's Tucson shows. This material certainly cuts a striking stone, with contrasting coloration in black, yellow, and orange. This highly silicated example has an artfully arranged and highly contrasting pattern that really catches the eye, and I think it has a boatload of designer potential. If you do too, grab it and make it yours!! The cab has a nicely rounded dome of 6mm, a versatile designer 'flame' shape, and a slick glassy polish both front and back.
