Ocean jasper cab ~
Offered here is a jumbo cabochon of ocean jasper, from Madagascar, cut from some of the very first rough I ever purchased. Sadly, it's now depleted; they say there is no more to harvest at the original source. This cab has a great display of big, bold bullseyes and orbs, surrounded by multiple rings of color. The greens in them stand out strongly against an agate background strewn with thread-like currents of rosy reddish pink. The stone has a gemmy translucent quality that I most enjoy, unlike some of its more 'jaspery' brethren. This large, deluxe stone has a nicely rounded dome of 6.5mm, a gracefully curved designer 'flame' shape, and a fine glassy polish both front and back.
