Royal Aztec lace agate cab ~
Offered here is a sweet cabochon of royal Aztec lace agate, from Mexico. Seldom seen, this old timey agate has become difficult to obtain these days, especially the best quality. This stone is a delightful example, featuring several gorgeous rosettes, along with some delicate lacy banding. It has excellent coloration, in a beautiful variety of light and dark pastels of purple and pinkish lavender. The dark eye is a sealed drusy patch that adds glitter, but only barely touches the surface. The stone has a high and well rounded dome of 7mm, a bold designer shape, and a super glassy polish both front and back.
