Parrot wing jasper cab suite ~
Offered here is a matching set of three cabochons, cut from premium old stock parrot wing jasper, from Mexico. This delightful jasperized chrysocolla is becoming very difficult to find, and spendy too, unlike the more common copper complexes so often substituted for it and erroneously dubbed 'parrot wing'. These are the real deal, folks. These unique beauties have VIVID lime greens, with a blush of turquoise blue, and tiny flecks of brown. The striking greens very much remind me of gaspeite, and they are every bit as vibrant as the photos depict, perhaps even moreso. I really enjoy cabbing this classic material for use in my own jewelry; it's beautifully colored, very solid, and there's seldom any difficulty achieving a slick, glassy shine. The largest stone has a well rounded dome of 5.5mm, and the smaller pair are 3mm in thickness, each with a smooth glossy polish both front and back.
