Montana agate cab ~
Offered here is a captivating cabochon of Montana agate, cut from a slice of an old stock nodule found on the banks of the Yellowstone River long ago. The dendrites in this example resemble droplets, contrasting strongly against a background of beautiful carnelian orange agate. But what makes this stone extra unique is the botryoidal 'turtleback' figure within the stone; it's much more pronounced than shown in the photos, revealing its presence fully when backlit. It's quite fascinating, and extraordinary to find in this type of agate; one can cut Montana agate nodules all day long, and not come across any quite like it! The cab has a low but well rounded dome of 4mm, a sweet designer 'leaf' shape, and a glistening polish both front and back.
