Pigeon blood agate cab ~
Offered here is a cabochon of rare pigeon blood agate, also known as cornelian, from Utah. This gemmy beauty is a well marked treasure, almost completely full of crimson dots, mosses and clouds in a partially translucent agate background. The agate's color is highly saturated, with oodles of mossy blooms, including some small mosses in yellowish-green around 'the olive'; please click to enlarge the photos to full size to view the details. The stone has a high rounded dome of 6mm, a gracefully curved designer 'paisley' shape, and a brilliantly gleaming polish both front and back.
