Inferno agate cab ~
Offered here is an intriguing cabochon of inferno agate, an awesome new Mexican arrival fresh from last month's Tucson shows. This example has a fascinating display of flame-like plumes in a very appropriate shades of crimson-orange. There's translucent agate in the spaces between the tendrils, with countless tiny beads suspended in those depths, flowing and pooling within them. Some plumes are framed by unusual 'studded' fortifications too. Backlit, the agate is warmly translucent, butterscotch yellow in color. It's absolutely amazing stuff! And already I'm wishing for more. The cab has a well rounded dome of 6.5mm, a crisp designer 'diamond' shape, and a slick glassy polish both front and back.
