Agua Nueva agate cab ~
Offered here is a cabochon of Agua Nueva agate, from Mexico. I often find that I like this material as much or even more than its long prized and famous cousin, Laguna agate, found nearby. This example is loaded with scalloped lacy bands in shades of lavender and white, with oodles of tubes popping up everywhere. The dark spot is not a void, it's completely smooth, and surrounded with subtle fortification bands. I have to add that the stone has a bit more color in hand, showing more lavender by eye. It'simply gorgeous! The stone has a generously high rounded dome of 8.5mm, a crisp designer shape, and a super glassy polish both front and back.
