Turquoise ~
Offered here is an interesting cabochon of spiderweb turquoise, from China. This one has a rather different coloration, not quite as green as the photos depict, (well, I DID try). What sets it off is the jet black matrix forming the webs. No doubt the material has been stabilized by some hardening process, as is most modern turquoise, but I don't believe it has been subjected to artificial coloring of any kind. It polished like a dream, and will wear wonderfully, without changing over the years. The cab has a low but nicely rounded dome of 5mm, a fun designer shape, and a smooth glossy polish both front and back.
