Imperial jasper cab ~
Offered here is a cabochon of imperial jasper, from Mexico. This classic old material is a great favorite around here, a member of the fine grained porcelain jasper family I love so much. This example has an attractive streaked pattern in shades of dusty rose with brown at one side, and pistachio green at the other, contrasting nicely against a background of even lighter pastel green that's nearly white. There are also some tiny pepper-like dendrites at center. The stone has a high rounded dome of 6mm, a crisp designer shape, and a slick glassy polish both front and back.
