Tourmalated quartz cab ~
Offered here is a cabochon of tourmalated quartz, cut from a large Brazilian crystal. This quartz has an artfully arranged showing of many jet black needles of tourmaline, going every which way. The clear quartz background is crackly, like crushed ice, with Lots of sparkly 'fairy frost' that throws satiny flashes and even rainbow reflections at certain angles. No, it's not the best I've ever had to work with, and there are some spots of slight undercutting where needles break the surface, but it IS gorgeous and fascinating nonetheless. The cab has a beautifully high rounded dome of nearly 7mm, a crisp rectangular shape, and it is polished both front and back.
