Flame agate cab ~
Offered here is a intriguing cabochon of flame agate, from Mexico. This stone was cut from grand old stock material, none too easy to come by these days. It has a great display of flame-like plumes in very appropriate crimson hues, against a darker reddish background, with some purplish areas. There are a couple tiny sparkly crystalline pockets still beneath the surface, adding to the stone's character. Gorgeous! For the sake of accuracy, there is a razor fine line running across this stone, though it's all but invisible in the photos; it's not a flaw, it's just odd. The cab has a high rounded dome of 6mm, an elegant designer shape, and a fine glassy polish both front and back.
