Tigereye cab ~
Offered here is a splendid cabochon of variegated tigereye, cut from old stock material African material. This stone has a delightful optical display, with rows of silky chatoyance in a mixture of midnight teal blue and golden yellow. The two primary colors blend into unusual greenish hues in most of the stone, in a beautiful effect that shimmers with life, and oddly enough, it's also semi-translucent. I liked the contrast of the orangish tendrils, which are composed of sub-metallic and threads of shiny metallic hematite, so I included them in the stone. It has a nicely rounded dome of 6mm, a gracefully sleek designer shape, and it is polished to a glassy brilliance both front and back.
