Carasite cab ~
Offered here is a unique cabochon of premium carasite jasper, from Oregon. This wonderful old material is a member of the fine grained porcelain jasper family, closely related to its more famous cousin, morrisonite jasper, found nearby. Like morrisonite, it takes a dazzling shine. This stone is an interesting example, featuring a streaky pattern in shades of peach, burnt orange, tan, crimson and more. It's almost scenic, like a sunset view of distant hills and lakes from a plane; very unique. The cab has a nicely rounded dome of 5mm, a graceful designer 'flame' shape, and a slick glassy polish both front and back.
