Royal Sahara jasper cab ~
Offered here is a truly remarkable cabochon of the new Royal Sahara jasper, recently found in the North African Sahara desert. The flow lines in this stone are artfully composed into an unique hilly landscape, for your designing or collecting pleasure. I really like the swirls of blue-gray in this example, a color that shows up frequently in RSJ. For accuracy's sake, please note that there are a few tiny pinpoint voids in the surface, even though they're easily overlooked in hand. This stone has a low rounded dome of 4mm, a rectangular shape that frames the pattern nicely, and it is polished both front and back.
