Turquoise ~
Offered here is a large deluxe cabochon of spiderweb turquoise, from China. This one has a rather different coloration, subtly mottled, and very lightly shaded to brown in some places. What sets it off is the jet black matrix forming the webs. No doubt the material has been stabilized by some hardening process, as is most modern turquoise, but I don't believe it has been subjected to artificial coloring of any kind. It polished like a dream, and will wear wonderfully, without changing over the years. The cab has a high rounded dome of 6+mm, a designer teardrop shape, and a smooth glossy polish both front and back.
