Offered here is a splendid cabochon of fossilized dinosaur bone, from Utah. This highly silicated material is many millions of years old, a marvelous example of the natural preservation of our earth's ancient, extinct 'thunder lizards'. Over millenia, the cells in this fossil bone have been replaced with red agate, and most are fortified like tiny agate thundereggs. Check out the enlarged photos to see the fascinating details. The tan cell walls form a sponge-like lattice, forever frozen in time. It's an amazing example of collectibly gemmy dinosaur bone! The cab has a rounded dome of 5mm, a crisp 'keystone' shape, and a super glassy polish both front and back.
