Butterfly wing jasper cab ~
Offered here is a cabochon of butterfly wing jasper, from Mexico. This long time favorite brecciated jasper (actually a rhyolite) is a much sought after classic, and a favorite in my studio. This wild example was cut from grand old material, and is extra colorful too, including slate blue, orange, magenta, pink, gold and yellow. The tiny pool of smoky agate is nicely translucent, adding depth. Any odd lines are either totally and naturally healed or simply part of the pattern, so this one's ready to take part in your next masterpiece. The cab has a low rounded dome, a versatile teardrop shape, and a smooth glassy polish both front and back.
