Pigeon blood agate cab ~
Offered here is a cabochon of rare pigeon blood agate, also known as cornelian, from Utah. This gemmy beauty is a well marked treasure, with an attractive scattering of crimson dots and clouds in a surprisingly translucent milky agate background. The pinkish color comes from zillions of tiny dots, with some mossy blooms, including one that looks very much like a rosebud. The stone has a rounded dome of 5mm, a sweet designer drop shape, and a brilliantly gleaming polish both front and back.
