Mystery plume agate cab ~
Offered here is a cabochon of MYSTERY plume agate, so called because I can't say for sure where it hails from. I sent a picture of it to my friend Terry Maple, and he says it looks similar to some manganese-based bouquet plumes out of Texas. I agree with that assessment because the tiny bursts do have a metallic glint in their centers. Whatever its name, it's beautiful! The background agate is an unusual shade of muted blue, and the black agate halos surrounding the flowers turn a warm golden amber when backlit. The cab has a well rounded dome of 6mm, a graceful designer shape, and it is polished both front and back.
Size: 58x18mm
Weight: approximately 42 carats
