Horse Canyon agate cab~
Offered here is a cabochon of rare Horse Canyon agate, from California. This highly sought after moss agate is one of my long time favorites, becoming tougher to get by the day. The area where it hails from is now private and closed to all collecting. This particular stone is of the dark variety, seldom seen these days; when I reach the end of what few nodules I have left, it may prove impossible to replenish. This stone has a mysterious feel to it, featuring a nearly black background agate with clear and bluish areas. Within that are stringers of crinkly mosses in shades of olive green. The stone has a nicely rounded dome, a rectangular pillow shape, and a fine glassy polish both front and back.
