Sonora Sunrise cab ~
Offered here is a bold cabochon of Sonora Sunrise, from Mexico. This fabulous new material has a wonderfully striking color combination, and it is 100% natural. The rough rock is on the spendy side, but I think the brilliant cabs it yields certainly make it worthwhile. This vivid example has a fabulous pattern of blood red to orange-red cuprite and jet black (tenorite?) contrasting strongly against green to blue-green chrysocolla. There are also a few hints of olive, and most of the bright red areas are edged with black, making them stand out even more. It's truly amazing stuff, just bristling with designer potential, as this brilliant stone just naturally captures admiring attention wherever it goes. I think you'll do great things with it, in even the simplest of settings. The cab has a nicely rounded dome of 5mm, a crisp designer shape, and a surprisingly glossy polish both front and back.
