Saddle Mt. petrified wood cab ~
Offered here is a cabochon of highly collectible Saddle Mountain petrified wood. This stuff certainly cuts striking stones. The colors are burnt yellowish orange, rusty red and brown, with tiny black dendrites; simply amazing when you remember what it started out to be in life. And it's semi-translucent, too. Viewed with an eye of imagination, it's oddly scenic, perhaps depicting an artist's rendition of a blazing forest fire. This one is sure to look grand in any creative item of jewelry, and either gold or silver will set it off beautifully. The cab has a nicely rounded dome of 5.5mm, with a fine glassy polish both front and back.
