Sonora Sunrise cab ~
Offered here is a unique cabochon of Sonora Sunrise, from Mexico. This fabulous new material has a wonderfully striking color combination, and it is 100% natural. Rough rock is on the spendy side, but I think the brilliant cabs it yields make it well worthwhile. This gorgeous example has a streaky patchwork pattern of blood red cuprite and jet black (tenorite?) contrasting against green to blue-green chrysocolla. The bright red areas are edged with black, making them jump out even more. It's absolutely amazing stuff, just bristling with designer potential, as this brilliant stone can't help but capture admiring attention wherever it's seen. I think you'll do great things with it, in even the plainest of settings. The cab has a nicely rounded dome of 5mm, a versatile designer shape, and a super glossy polish both front and back.
