Shattuckite in chrysocolla cab ~
Offered here is a cabochon of brilliant shattuckite, a rare copper silicate mineral from the Congo. This vibrant blue material is mighty hard to beat when it comes to eye catching, and I have to say these photos fall a bit short of illustrating that. The colors don't translate very well digitally, but in hand, you'll see strong electric cerulean and sky blues, with rich brown confetti providing a gorgeous contrast. This silicated material is quite durable; it's naturally hard enough to take a great polish, and it will wear well in any type of jewelry you can dream up. This cab has a well rounded dome of 5.5mm, a designer 'keystone' shape, and it is nicely polished both front and back.
