Rhodochrosite cab ~
Offered here is a cabochon of rhodochrosite, from Argentina, cut from wonderfully gemmy old stock material. Not easy to come by like it once was, last I heard, the price of classic rhodochrosite is strictly controlled by the Argentinian goverment. -grr- This dramatic stone features vibrant hot pink coloration, with an undulating pattern framed in concentric scalloped banding. I particularly like the dark gun-metal gray metallics in this one, adding much to the character and contrast. This large, deluxe beauty has a generously high rounded dome of 8mm, a crisp designer 'spearhead' shape, and it is polished to a lustrous glossy brilliance both front and back. My per carat price is an absolute BARGAIN!!!
