Botswana agate cab ~
Offered here is an interesting cabochon of Botswana agate, from Africa. As a youngster, I horded hundreds of outstanding Botswana agate nodules, and every one was unique in some way; sure wish I had them all now! This stone has a couple of different patterns, including white bandings and ornate tubes with tiny reddish brown thorn-like inlcusions, in a background of smoky bluish gray/brown agate. Its beauty may be on the subtle side, but it'll certainly 'speak' well in your jewelry creations, whatever your plans for it, in even the simplest of settings. It has an extra high rounded dome of nearly 9mm, a very plump rounded teardrop shape, and it is polished to a glassy brilliance both front and back.
