Morgan Hill poppy jasper cab ~
Offered here is a cabochon of poppy jasper, from the famous Morgan Hill, CA. location, no longer open to collecting. This one's a bit unusual, with a background the color of chocolate. The red areas toward the large end really do resemble poppies, and area edged with burnt yellow. It does have a couple of the typical hairline fractures common to this collectible material, but each is well healed and fine, and the stone is quite solid. The cab has a well rounded dome of 6mm, a gracefully sleek designer shape, and a slick glassy polish both front and back.
