Tourmalated quartz cab ~
Offered here is a cabochon of tourmalated quartz, cut from a Brazilian crystal. This quartz has a scattering of many jet black needles of tourmaline, going every which way. These smaller needles are what I prefer over the heavier, thicker variety more often seen. Lots of sparkly 'fairy frost' present, which throws satiny flashes or even rainbow reflections at certain angles. No, it's not the best I've ever had to work with, and there are a few pinpoint voids, but it IS fascinating nonetheless. The cab has a beautifully high rounded dome of 8mm, a bold designer shape, and it is polished both front and back.
